The recorder ensemble involves children from years 4-6 who have a special interest in and love of playing recorder, following an initial study of the instrument in year 3. Although the makeup of the ensemble varies from year to year, it always consists of several ability levels on descant, treble, tenor and bass recorders. They rehearse weekly in the school hall. The ensemble participates each year in the Department of Education Arts Unit Festival of Instrumental Music at the Sydney Opera House.

There are also numerous other performing opportunities for the Ensemble which include school assemblies, Moocooboola festival, performance night, Boronia Park carols night and presentation day. All of these performances contribute to the children’s musical development and enhance their entire educational experience.
